Entrance Alcove

Select scenes from the "Seven Sisters" of North East India forming a backdrop for colourfully dressed hosts welcoming visitors, are indeed impressive.

Introductory Gallery

North East India, where DBCIC is located, consists of seven States of the Indian Union: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. Situated in the extreme North East of the country, India's North East has international boundaries with China, Tibet, and Bhutan, and Myanmar and Bangladesh. Only a small stretch of land 22 km broad known as the Siliguri Corridor links the North Eastern region with the rest of India.

This Introductory gallery provides the visitor a clear picture of the tribal world of this enchanting corner of India. This it does by means of 4 beautiful panels: Geopolitical Boundary, Cultural Profile, Tribal Distribution and Fauna.
