DBCIC is a Cultural and Anthropological Museum as well as a Research Centre. It has departments for publication, documentation, language study and promotion of indigenous art and music. As a Research Centre it is equipped with a Library, a Conference Hall and a Temporary Exhibition Hall.

DBCIC is committed to realizing its vision by serious research on issues related to Culture: workshops, courses, seminars, symposia, intercultural get-togethers, exhibitions of art and artifacts, developing "Museum Concept" in education, promoting inculturizing attitudes, building culture from below as well as from above, reducing the distance between education and culture, having a databank.
