Conference on Oral Traditions

Shillong, February 02, 2016: A conference on “Oral Traditions: Continuity and Transformations – North East India and South East Asia” was inaugurated by Meghalaya Governor Shri V. Shanmuganathan yesterday at the State Convention Centre, Pinewood Hotel Annexe.

The four-day conference, attended by more than 30 scholars from different parts of the globe to deliberate and discuss on oral traditions, folk narratives and the rich cultural heritages of India’s North East, will conclude on 4th February.

The conference is organised by INTACH and Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) and supported by DBCIC, NEC and Lady Keane College.

The participants of the conference will also have a guided museum tour and panel discussion at Don Bosco Museum on Wednesday.
