August 05, 2015: DBCIC/Don Bosco Museum director Fr. Joseph Puthenpurakal and deputy director Sr. Teresa Kamsuan are attending the “Eighth International Conference on the Inclusive Museum” to be held at the National Science Centre, Delhi on 7 August and the National Museum, Janpath on 9 August, 2015.
The conference will be inaugurated on August 6, 2015 by the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in the capital city.
Held each year, the “International Conference on the Inclusive Museum” draws a diverse group of participants from all over the world. The programme includes plenary speakers, paper presentations, workshops sessions, exhibits, and social events.
The conference also groups together presentations along similar themes to facilitate knowledge sharing and community building.
The Museum Day will also be convened on August 8, 2015 at the National Science Museum. The day will be hosted by several prestigious Indian Institutions including the National Gallery of the Modern Art, Sangeet Natak Academy which is the UNESCO 2003 Convention Nodal Point for Safeguarding Intangible Heritage in India; and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in India.
The day is coordinated by the International Institute for the Inclusive Museum with the respective host institutions facilitating workshops and seminars.
