Union minister tours Shillong museum

Shillong, November 08, 2016: Sudarshan Bhagat, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare visited Don Bosco Museum in the city today. He was accompanied by his private secretary Manoj Kumar Tripathi, MN Nampui (IAS), secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Dept. of Agriculture and Vinit K. Verma, Director (Cooperative) of the Dept. of Agri. & Coop., Delhi and other officials.

In the museum’s visitors’ book, he penned, “…I am impressed with the professional way the tribal cultures of NE India have been showcased. This museum will help in spreading knowledge about the NE tribal cultures not only to the rest of India but also to the entire world…” He also complimented the museum’s director Fr. Joseph and his team for their vision and efforts.

The union minister and officials from the ministry are on an official visit to Shillong.
